Description

I don’t own a flock of these, but several friends have them and I am able to hatch eggs each spring.

These are very large geese, the type used for meat, back when a roast goose was a popular holiday meal. Their size makes them even more formidable as protectors of your other birds. They also tend to be cheaper. Sexing is harder, but possible, and like other poultry the females are more than the males. If you want maximum predator protection, the slightly larger ganders are just as good, or better.
